The Standard Manuscript Sheets Book

When it comes to practicing beats and fills the first two books in this section, single repeated bars and repeated 4-bar phrase manuscript books are ideal.

However, sometimes you need to write drum charts when learning a new song in your band or learning whole songs from your favorite albums. The standard manuscript paper then comes into good use.

This manuscript book has the standard 5-line staff repeated 12 times.

I believe as a practicing and developing drummer each type of manuscript book is an essential part of the drummer's kit. There's nothing worse than playing a really great fill, sometimes by mistake, and then not having a place to record the darn thing.

So get yourself a set of manuscript books and never lose a beat or fill again.

The Repeated 4-Bar Manuscript Book

Along with my frustration of not being able to find the type of manuscript I was looking for. It was also very frustrating to have to continually write out repeated beats and practice phrases, fills, or nuances as well as keep track of those in an orderly clean non-frustrating way.

And so again, I decided to create my own version of what I was looking for.

A basic repeated 4-bar phrase where you get to write the drum beat of your choice (possibly from your single-bar manuscript record book of beats you created earlier) and repeat that beat for 3 bars.

Then, write and play a single 4th bar drum fill or phrase that you want to practice and record for future reference.
